A junior in Pauli Murray, Pol Berger Romeu has been heavily involved in the Yale Undergraduate Consulting Group (YUCG) over the past three semesters. Since joining as an analyst in Spring 2023, he has worked from Associate Head of Training to Project Manager before currently serving as the President of YUCG.
On His Time at YUCG
To Pol, YUCG has been “the most formative pre-professional experience" over his time at Yale. As a student with an academic background in biology, Pol’s work at YUCG has allowed him to apply his critical thinking and problem-solving skills to drive real-world impact. However, beyond these project engagements, he shared that the “amazing community events – dinners, escape rooms, formals, retreats, and even a trip to Hawaii – have brought me to some of my closest friends on campus.” These sentiments are shared by the current analysts, associates, and PMs, especially as YUCG looks forward to welcoming new members to our community this recruitment cycle!
On His Goals for YUCG
Pol’s pinnacle goal this semester is to bring YUCG closer to becoming the premier undergraduate consulting organization. How? YUCG offers members the experience of working with real-life issues, which leaves them with something tangible by the end of each project term. Pol strives for YUCG to continue landing these meaningful projects with Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, and exciting startups while fostering a vibrant community in which all members are eager to participate. The ultimate goal is to “give students unique opportunities that cannot be found elsewhere on campus.”
On Serving as President of YUCG
Pol shared that “becoming president of YUCG is an exciting opportunity to pay forward what YUCG has been to me – a truly integral part of my undergraduate experience. I hope all current and future members take away just as much as I do, both socially and professionally.”
